Mandate

The Egyptian International Center for Agriculture (EICA) takes charge of the training affairs of delegates from abroad either through the Egyptian government programs, International organizations or foreign governments, and it ensures continuous revision and assessment of those given programs and their respective syllabus.
 

The duties of the Egyptian International Center for Agriculture (EICA) are outlined as follows:
1- The preparation, planning, implementation and supervision of agricultural training programs and designing their scientific syllabus to conform to delegates of various foreign countries.
 

The training programs provided by EICA are divided into three types as follows:
1) Regular Training Programs
They are performed in accordance with the nominations received from the Ministry of External Affairs through our embassies in the participating countries; in this respect EICA organizes 10 regular training courses every year as follows:
1. Project analysis course (during the period from 15/1 to 31/3)
2. Integrated Pest Management course (during the period from 15/1 to 31/3)
3. Vegetable Production course (during the period from 15/2 to 30/4)
4. Agricultural services course (during the period from 1/4 to 15/6)
5. Cotton Production and Technology course (during the period from 1/4 to 15/6)
6. Poultry Production and Health course (during the period from 10/7 to 25/9)
7. Rural Development course (during the period from 10/7 to 25/9)
8. Animal Production and Health (during the period from 1/10 to 15/12)
9. Fish Aquaculture Development course (during the period from 1/10 to 15/12)
10. Soil and Water Management course during the period from 1/10 to 15/12)
 

2) Joint Training Programs
They are performed in accordance with the agreements conducted between the Center and the international governmental and nongovernmental agencies to provide training grants to developing countries in various fields of agriculture. In this respect EICA designs the respective training programs to those agencies upon their requirements and in the needed language. Collaborative organizations include:
-Food and Agriculture Organization (FAD)
-Arab Organization for Agriculture Development (AOAD)
-Afro Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO)
-International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)
 

3) Special Training Programs
They are performed upon the request of governments and foreign governmental agencies in various domains of agriculture. In this respect EICA designs the respective training programs to the countries upon their requirements and in the needed language.
 

Expenses of specialized training programs are outlined as follows:
1.Expenses of Training: US $ 1200 per month per individual
2. Carrying out respective evaluation studies of those training programs and their scientific content after planning and throughout their implementation for sustainable development.
3. Supervising the reception and accommodation of trainees throughout their training period at EICA, and following them up to overcome all impediments that might hinder them.
4. Providing a number of free scholarships to participating countries funded by the government of Egypt.
5. Taking over the charge of delegating the staff working at the Egyptian agricultural sector for training or studying to various countries in conformity to external scholarships provided by foreign governments, international agencies and organizations or in the light of bilateral agreements and protocols conducted between those countries and Egypt in the field of agriculture.
